Playa Vista Beachfront is located in a very exclusive, secure and gated La Jolla neighborhood on a quiet cul-de-sac. As you enter the property, you are greeted by a sunny interior courtyard with a swimming pool, spa and lounges. There is a built-in Dacor stainless steel outdoor grill for cooking your favorite meals and a dining table for al fresco dining. From the courtyard, you will enter the home through a foyer and into the great room with a 15′ open-beamed ceiling. Saltillo tile flooring, tasteful furnishings and a built-in fireplace topped by a 65″ curved flat-screen HDTV all conspire to create a wonderful space for groups to gather and spend time together. As impressive as the great room is, you’ll find your eyes drawn to the large bay windows that frame the spectacular and expansive views of the ocean and California coastline.

Step outside of the great room onto the oceanfront patio and gaze north towards Marine Street Beach, a body surfer’s and sunbather’s paradise. To the south is Windansea Beach, an incredibly picturesque beach featuring one of the most famous surf breaks in California and the setting and inspiration for Tom Wolfe’s novel, The Pump House Gang. It was a great pleasure to have this agency arrange an enjoyable, memorable experience for our family. Each staff person with whom I had contact was professional, friendly, and helpful. Bluewater is the gold standard for premium vacation rental agencies. Their customer service exceeded our highest expectations. Bluewater has exceptional reviews because they deserve the accolades. We will definitely have them assist us again for renting property in the future.
The Playa Vista Beachfront home was amazing! The Bluewater Web site description accurately depicts the property's features, and indeed it is a gem. It is rare to find an oceanfront home with direct beach access, a grass yard, and a swimming pool and spa in an interior courtyard. It was very convenient to have en-suite bathrooms and TVs for each bedroom. The availability of parking in the two-car garage and in the driveway was an added bonus. The ocean views were spectacular especially being able to see the beautiful sunsets. There is some construction work taking place directly at the property next door. It slightly affected our privacy but not sufficiently enough to interfere with our enjoyment of staying at this lovely home. We will most likely consider renting this property again.

Your description of the property was very accurate. Everyone we spoke with was friendly and helpful. Any issues we had were dealt with promptly. The housekeeper who was assigned to us was excellent as was the babysitter from Destination Sitters.
The location of the house is unbeatable. Even though there were construction sites either side this didn't interfere with our enjoyment. The indoor living area is spacious and we loved being able to spread out onto the three different outdoor spaces. We liked that the pool and hot tub were in the inner courtyard away from the sea breeze. We were there with our kids and grandkids and everyone had a really good time. We would happily stay in this house again.

Bluewater staff have all been great in our year of communication with various people there to help our first trip from Michigan to California happen. See above comments on how amazing Paul Becker and Jolene were. Additionally, when we did our arrival walk through the house, Cameron met us there and was helpful in instructing how things worked as well as recommending some things to see in the area. We used the kayak company and bike rental company recommended by bluewater and loved our experiences with them as well.
Our family would definately stay in this home again. Lication in the area is perfect, allows for amazing ocean and sunset views. The area of beach was more private than most. Lots of room, nice to have a pool and hot tub while having the home on the ocean. There was construction on either side of us going on,but that is a circumstance beyond the owners control. The master bathroom shower and an additional bedroom shower could use replacing the old materials. The bunk bed in one of the rooms was challenging for 2 kids to use because of the low height of the bottom bunk.

This house is better looking in person if you can believe that. The very nice reps met us at the house and walked us through. They assured us if there were any problems to give them a call. This was a great experience and we plan on coming back. They gave us the names of rental companies they work with and they had some surf boards and SUP on site when we arrived. The only work I had to do was cook, because I didn't ask for a chef. The beach was basically all ours, and it was memorial weekend! Kids loved the critters in the rocks and playing in the sandy surf beach. We left the back door open in the master up stairs at night so we could listen to the crashing waves and feel the cool breeze. All the basics were supplied just like a resort. Cant wait to use this company again.

Please note: Spa heat is complimentary; pool heat is an additional $100 a day and must be purchased at a 3-night minimum. If you want to purchase pool heat, please notify us 7 days prior to your arrival as it takes 12–24 hours to heat up to maximum temperature. Because the pool and spa run off of the same heater, they cannot be heated at the same time.
