This mid-century modern home, crafted in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright, was built by the parents of the current owner in 1960, Recently renovated from top to bottom, it has all the modern amenities while keeping all of the charm and character of the original home.  The property is designed for indoor and outdoor living, with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors in nearly every room that lead to tranquil lush garden spaces in the interior courtyard, or to spectacular ocean views on the south and west sides of the house.  High beamed ceilings and hardwood floors add to this home’s beauty and warmth.  
 
Reflecting brilliant design and detailed craftsmanship, this inspiring home is purposely designed to take advantage of beautiful ocean views from every room, and yet is hidden behind a wall of fragrant natale plum hedges, giving it seclusion and privacy.
 
This beautifully decorated home is a serene sanctuary that has a casual elegance that is both comfortable and soothing.  From the central courtyard, the gentle sounds of the stone waterfall drift into the house through open windows.  The owner is an artist and she and her husband, who travel widely, have filled their home with Buddhist statuary, art, and unique hand crafted objects from around the world.
 
The stunning multi-level property overlooks one of the best surf breaks in San Diego, and is situated on a pristine stretch of San Diego’s Pacific Oceanfront shoreline with miles of tide pools and small sandy beach alcoves.
 
The rooms:
This is a 3.5 bedroom, 3 bath home which can sleep up to 8 people in beds. There is 1 King, 2 Queen beds and a queen fold out sleeper. All beds have quality mattresses and luxury linens to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep.
 
The gourmet kitchen is well equipped and has custom built cherry wood cabinets, cabinet lighting, granite counters, hard wood floors, high-end appliances, a bar, and ocean views.  The open design of the home creates an open flow from kitchen, dining room and living room. 
 
The living room features comfortable seating, ocean views, and sliding glass doors opening to the central courtyard and garden.  Old magnolia and ficcus trees shade the courtyard keeping it cool and welcoming in the summer.  There is a 60” flat screen HDTV in this room. 
 
The master suite has a king bed and opens onto the tranquil inner garden on one side and spectacular ocean views and south-facing gardens on the other side.  This room has a 40” smart TV. 
 
The en suite master bath has dual sinks, granite countertop, slate floors and a large, open, walk-in rain shower opening onto a private garden and looking out onto stunning ocean views.  Watch the sunset while you shower, or in the warm weather, open the shower window and step out into the private garden to dry off.  The bathroom also features a large soaking tub.
 
The second bedroom has a queen bed, ocean views, garden access, and a bathroom across the hall.
 
The third loft bedroom with its en suite bathroom is on the third level with aerial ocean views down the coast line as well as sliding glass doors that open onto a balcony and sitting area overlooking the tranquil inner courtyard.  In the warm months, sleep with the windows open and enjoy the sounds of the surf and the fountain. It has a queen bed, office area and en suite bath overlooking the ocean.
 
In an alcove off of the master bedroom is the fourth sleeping area, a convertible couch which can be turned into a comfortable queen size sleeper.  This is not a distinct space from the master, but would be appropriate for young children.  This area has sliding glass doors that open into the garden.

Outdoor spaces:
An outdoor deck off the kitchen offers spectacular views looking south down the coastline.  Greet the day here with your morning coffee, or sip a glass of wine while you watch the sunset.
 
The master bedroom and one other bedroom have sliding glass doors that open onto a private, south-facing garden with stunning ocean views. 
 
The bedroom on the third level has a deck with sitting area that overlooks the tranquil garden.
 
The house is design in an L shape wrapping around a secluded garden.  The lower garden, which features a stone waterfall, is a shady tropical paradise, while the upper garden is sunny and has a Mediterranean feel with olive trees and native drought-tolerant vegetation.  There is a dining table in the lower garden, a sitting area in the middle garden area, and other seating sprinkled throughout the upper gardens.
 
All outdoor spaces are fully-fenced yards with beautiful landscaping for your enjoyment.

Please note: There is a back residence with two occupants at the rear of the yard space. These 2 residences (not owners) utilize the laundry space in the garage on Sunday and Monday in the peak season. The garage is also only available to these tenants for parking (driveway parking and ample street parking for guests of Bluewater in the main residence).

What to do while you’re here:
You are across the street from one of southern California's best surf spots, a tidepool walkers delight, and the secluded beaches of Sunset Cliffs Nature Park.  Or you can take a 35 minute walk or 5 minute drive to the larger Ocean Beach. The quaint seaside community of Ocean Beach offers several nice restaurants, organic food coop, Wednesday Farmers Market, a famous local burger joint, juice bars, surf shops with surf lessons, trendy sushi/tapas place, wine bars, brew pubs, a lively music scene, and antique stores.
 
If you decide to leave the tranquility of the ocean, there are plenty of attractions within 15-20 minutes: Seaworld, the World Famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park Museums and Gardens, The Old Globe Theater, The Gaslamp District, Little Italy, Scripps Aquarium, Del Mar, Torrey Pines State Park, La Jolla, and Mission Beach to name just a few.
  
Please note:  There is a couple that lives on the back side of the property. They share no common areas except for laundry room. No pets and no smoking allowed. This home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is only suitable for quieter groups. Our rental agreement includes a no tolerance policy regarding excessive noise, occupancy and/or parties. Our time at this home was unique and wonderful. The house faces the Pacific Ocean, and directly across the road, theres a staircase that leads to a secluded beach in the magnificent Sunset Cliffs Natural Park. The home is spacious and beautiful, with softly-curved corners and archways, rich wood trim, a hanging wooden staircase, and inspiring art. In nearly every room, sliding doors open to the large, private, and lush multi-level garden, or toward the ocean. The master suite opens to an enclosed terrace with a splendid view of the sea. We enjoyed hearing the waves and breathing the fresh air at night and while using the indoor/outdoor stone shower. Additionally, the master bathroom has a luxurious bathtub and two sinks so you can feel pampered. The kitchen is large with everything you need and has a bar useful for sharing appetizers while getting ready for another amazing sunset. The living room is a comfortable and inviting place to read and relax. Sandy enjoyed playing the grand piano in such a lovely setting. One of our favorite things was that there were many special places in the home and garden where you could sit and enjoy the sunlight coming in while getting lost in a novel, or do some yoga, or have a quiet conversation.
