DESCRIPTION
La Jolla, known as the Jewel of San Diego, is a must-see for anyone visiting Southern California, and if you want to stay in the middle of it all, this is the perfect vacation rental. Casa del Sol is one of 4 historic Beach Cottages built in the 1930s and lined up along a stairway leading from Prospect Street to La Jolla Cove known as Ocean Lane. As La Jolla grew and developed around them, the cottages have retained the original charm and appeal that have hosted countless visitors over decades of fun and relaxation.

Casa del Sol has been nicely updated to feature all the modern–day comforts of home. Comfy furnishings, two flat-screen cable TVs, a dedicated dining area, a fully–equipped kitchen, and a gas fireplace,

Walk down the stairs to the ocean and view basking seals at La Jolla Cove and the wide grass expanse of Scripps Park overlooking the La Jolla Ecological Reserve, featuring sea lions, dolphins and even whales during migrating seasons. With water visibility sometimes exceeding 30 feet, this is a very popular place for scuba, snorkeling and kayaking.

• This home encompasses the oceanfront portion of the second floor and the rear portion of the third floor along with oceanfront decks.

• Check-in time: 4:00 PM Check-out: 10:00 AM. To properly clean, sanitize and maintain the home, we are unable to accommodate early check-ins or check-outs.

• Furnishings and amenities are subject to change. No refunds are given for any reason unless the home is uninhabitable. Guest ages and plans for the use of the home must be approved, and reservations may be declined or canceled at management’s discretion.

Cute little Cottage

Me and my husband rented this house. It\'s super cute and perfect for couples. The location is incredible! Just up the street on Prospect we found many restaurants to eat and down the street is Children\'s Pool La Jolla. This home did not have assigned parking but that was no problem for us as there was plenty of street parking options and we could also walk to everything! Thank you for an amazing stay.

This home is perfectly located in the La Jolla cove area. It’s on a quiet street but you can walk to all the great cafes and restaurants. It’s also a 5-min walk to the beach. You can even see the ocean from two of the windows! The home is newly and beautifully renovated. Everything is new and clean, and easy to use. It’s definitely well-maintained as well. The whole place is spacious for a one-bedroom house. Bluewater staff were outstanding, professional and attentive. They responded very quickly to our requests and questions during our entire stay, both weekdays and weekends. They are one the best managing companies that we’ve seen! We will definitely rent this place again when we come back!

Cozy home

Great place! Other reviews mentioned that parking can be a challenge here, which is true but it is totally manageable. Honestly, the only time we had trouble finding a parking spot on the street was during the 4:00 hour when we we first got there. Other than that, we were able to easily find parking in the evening and morning hours. I carried the key card with me at all times for the parking garage access and never had to use it. TIP: Upon arrival, access the walkway to the unit from Prospect Street (32.847444, -117.274944). This is much easier with your luggage than trying to use the stairs from Coast Blvd. Plus there is usually enough room there to temporarily pull to the side of the road, turn on your flashers and unload your car.

The house is quite small and the second sleeping spot is also the couch, which may be a little small for an adult couple to sleep on. Overall the house is in a great location to the beach, restaurants and coffee shops and the Bluewater staff were great hosts!
